I was born in 1977 in Porto, Portugal. My main source of inspiration is the work of my grandfather, an ornamental sculptor. I spent part of my childhood with him, growing up and being educated amidst his drawings and wood carvings, in a luminous city with a blue sky, bathed by the Atlantic Sea on one side and an ancient city steeped in millennia of history, descending along a golden river on the other.
My practice explores nature, landscapes, the human body, portraiture, materials, and color. My work revolves around surrealist abstraction, referencing realism, nature, and figuration. It's a dialogue between art, the environment, and humanity. Through my creations, I seek to convey timeless visual sensations.
